Find out more about programme alumni, Fleur De Lis Classical Theatre Company.

Fleur De Lis are a Medway theatre company who joined us for our third cohort of creative businesses back in 2024. Since then, they have presented at our cohort showcase event, as well as our regional Essex event ‘Innovation and Investment’, held with UKBAA and Angels@Essex.

Fleur de Lis Theatre develops classical era texts with a focus on the incorporation of advanced physical theatre skills, such as stage combat, puppetry, dance, mime and so much more. Alongside our productions, we deliver physical skills workshops within the public and private sector, in educational settings and for fellow artists to aid the enhancement and accessibility of education within the arts sector.

How have they progressed?

Within the last two years Fleur De Lis have expanded their core team, hiring a Head of PR, Melanie Thompson and Business Engagement Manager, Liv J. Night, to improve the everyday running’s of the company. They have made strong creative and corporate partnerships that will aid in the development of their first major production. As of the last year, Fleur De Lis are being recognised for their success within the creative industry, taking part in multiple published interviews, spreading the word of Fleur de Lis further than they ever have before.

Growing with Create South East

Create South East has enabled us to put together an impressive pitch deck that we now feel confident to take to investors and sell the company to the best of our ability. The company’s comprehension of pitching and investment culture has improved vastly and we feel that the direction and trajectory of the business has never been clearer.

Business Highlights

  • Connected with Angels@Essex, iTeams programme and Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch.
  • Submitted for Arts Council Funding and currently in talks with social impact investors.
  • Currently planning first full length production.

Future Aims and Ambitions

We have been operating in the South East of England over the last four years and our intention is to begin widening our offering across the UK, before reaching out to Europe and beyond. We aim to secure investment in the near future, to enable us to acquire premises to operate from within central London. Eventually, we aim to have these creative hubs nationwide, and hopefully one day, worldwide. We want our brand and venues to be known globally as the go-to for physical skills development education and become a main player within the classical theatre space.
