Last month we hosted our ‘South East Fashion Innovation’ event at @TheLabE20. We had featured talks from the incredible Christopher Raeburn (RÆBURN), Yasmin Jones-Henry, Professor Jane Harris, and Dan Chilcott .
It was an opportunity to gather some of our fashion focused programme members together, as well as meeting some new and exciting businesses who work in fashion in the South East.
Yasmin Henry-Jones gave an incredible introduction the The Lab E20 space, speaking about her passion for creative spaces and the vital ecosystem they bring to an area.
We then heard from Christopher Raeburn about innovative fashion, circular sourcing, and most importantly collaboration as a pathway to success in the creative industries. Collaboration and innovation were the stand out features of the evening, and we loved sharing in these discussions and how they can empower creative businesses.
Professor Jane Harris spoke on her road to collaboration and the many pathways fashion has taken her on in the creative industry. From motion capturing fabric movement, to helping assist animators in material realism for digital costuming, we learnt about the versatility of skillsets the fashion industry had to offer, and how fashion can work with the creative industry as a whole.
It was great to see so many fashion and design businesses from across the South East get together to discuss growth and collaboration in the design industry more, as well as enjoying the Lab E20 space, and a few cheeky canapes too.
